Blog: fix what the second refuting check found in the October refresh (#137) Round 2 checked the new wording on all 8 posts: 0 CRITICAL, 10 MAJOR, about 45 MINOR, all fixed. Includes the payment plan 15-day rule, the finder listing in-development products, the cumulative overwrite risk, payments on account, the Section 24 taper and UK-wide 22% relief, and the device post's reverse proxy quote. Fact-check records, changelog and status updated. Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01XLukEondVENWMYpCL8KRNs Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Blog: October refresh of the 8 older posts after adversarial fact-checks (#136) Each post had a refuting and staleness check on 8 October 2026. Fixed every CRITICAL and MAJOR finding: four posts implied LetSort files live with HMRC; the penalty post misstated the January 2027 return and payment rules; the Section 24 post said miscoding gives no relief (it understates tax) and missed the 22% relief rate from 2027-28; the compliance year post missed the landlord database dates, Scotland's Awaab's Law and the confirmed 2035 Decent Homes date; the losses post said 2026-27 filings fail now (not before 6 April 2027). Fix wording is checked again before merge. Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01XLukEondVENWMYpCL8KRNs Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Calendar post: stop giving step-by-step 1 to 5 April advice to switchers (#134) Fact-check rounds 4 to 6 each found the switcher steps wrong for some reader group, because the answer depends on the landlord's accounting date. The post now states the rule (ITTOIA 2005 s.275B, SI 2026/336 reg 13), says what it depends on, and points to an accountant. Rounds recorded in the fact-check file. Fix the calendar post's 1 to 5 April advice and the switcher start date (#133) * Fix the calendar post's 1 to 5 April advice and the switcher start date A third adversarial fact-check found FAQ 5 telling calendar users to add 1 to 5 April at year end. ITTOIA 2005 s.275B already treats those days as next year, so a landlord would report them twice. Also reworded the sandbox finding so it does not imply 2027-28 switchers lose their 6 April start, and fixed the code fallback to match SI 2026/336 reg 13(2)(a). Let landlords choose standard or calendar update periods (#131) HMRC's MTD service guide says software must offer the standard or calendar choice before a year's first quarterly update. LetSort only showed it. - Tax year page: choose standard or calendar for the current tax year, until an update is sent. Calendar needs the landlord to confirm their accounts run 1 April to 31 March, as HMRC asks. - API: PUT /api/hmrc/business/quarterly-period-type calls Business Details v2.0 Create and Amend Quarterly Period Type, refuses once the year has an update, and clears drafts prepared for the old period ends. - Preparing an update uses HMRC's period type: month-end quarters for calendar, with the year start from HMRC's obligations when they cover the year. HMRC's sandbox only accepts a calendar update from 1 April. - Sending waits at least 10 seconds after a change, as HMRC asks. - The daily keep-alive also calls the endpoint (standard, not stateful). Blog: standard vs calendar MTD update periods, reframed for 2027-28 (#40) * Add standard-vs-calendar update-periods post (Pillar 1 piece 5) Fourth Month 2 post: the how-to spoke on the calendar quarters election. New post /blog/standard-or-calendar-mtd-update-periods explains the choice between standard and calendar quarterly update periods: it moves the period end (calendar quarters end 30 Jun/30 Sep/31 Dec/31 Mar) not the deadline (both file 7 Aug/7 Nov/7 Feb/7 May), the default is standard, it locks once the first update is sent, it is per income source, and it is set via the Business Details API quarterlyPeriodType field. Registered in posts.ts with Article + FAQ JSON-LD. Adversarial fact-check per docs/blog-factcheck-process.md: 0 CRITICAL, 0 MAJOR; every claim confirmed against primary legislation (SI 2026/336 regs 11/12/13/48), verbatim GOV.UK, and the Business Details API OAS. One MINOR applied. Recorded in docs/blog-factchecks/. Also updated the live why-your-q2 post's stale SI 2024/167 citation
